The Other Thailand

Most people come to Thailand and end up seeing the same version of it: Khao San Road, the Full Moon Party, the beach clubs of Phuket or Koh Samui. The Other Thailand is for the ones who know there’s more: less fabricated, less curated for tourism, more locals’ life and lesser-traveled places.

Consider The Other Thailand a personal introduction to the regions most visitors never visit (which is good—fewer people when we all get there), written by someone who is half Thai and has been traveling here since she was six months old. Not the tourist circuit—well, I’ve been there, but it’s not in this guide. Not the places the algorithm or travel influencers keep pushing. Think: ancient temples, slow northern mornings, islands without an airport—the kind of Thailand that feels like the real thing, tbh because it is.

If you love going more off the beaten track (tbh in Thailand you have tourism almost everywhere, but these places are not hit by mass tourism and surprisingly quiet), this is for you.
